The manifesto for spiritual integrity: a public call to action

Spiritual leadership is a privilege, not a right. When a leader violates the moral edicts of their office through fraud, sexual exploitation, or power brokering, they forfeit their claim to authority. We, the public, must act decisively to remove these bad actors from their exalted positions to save the soul of our society.

The Five Pillars of the "Great Cleanse"

We must cease the culture of blind obeisance. A robe, a title, or a lineage does not grant immunity from the law or common morality.Any leader facing credible charges of moral turpitude or criminal behaviour must be asked to step down from their administrative and spiritual seats immediately. We must refuse to attend their discourses or fund their institutions until they are cleared of all wrongdoing.

The political immunity enjoyed by wayward pontiffs is fueled by our votes. We must signal to all political parties that "divine endorsement" no longer guarantees victory. Publicly declare that our votes cannot be "brokered" by religious heads. If a politician protects a corrupt leader to secure a community's support, that politician must face a collective boycott at the ballot box.

Public money" donated in faith should never fund private luxury or criminal defenses. Demand the enactment of laws that treat religious trusts as public entities. We must call for mandatory, independent annual audits and public disclosure of all assets held by religious heads. If the money trail is murky, the leader must be removed.

When bad actors are caught, they often claim they are being "attacked" by enemies of the faith. We must reject this manipulation. Educate our communities that holding a leader accountable is an act of devotion to the faith, not an attack on it. A criminal in a robe is a greater threat to religion than any "external enemy" could ever be.

Empowerment of the Victim and the Critic:  The "poisonous circle" thrives on silencing the brave. Create and support independent community oversight boards that protect whistleblowers and victims within religious organizations. We must stand as a human shield for those who have the courage to flag the wrongdoing of a powerful "pontiff."

To cleanse society is to remove the rot. We call upon every citizen to stop being a "disciple of the person" and start being a "disciple of the truth." The exalted positions held by these devious religious actors belong to the Path of Righteousness, not to the individuals who stain it.

It is time to remove the frauds in the religious arena
